RatePlug FAQ’s for MARIS Agents
1) What is RatePlug?
RatePlug is a program designed to display live lending information within property listing information. RatePlug will be made available within the MLS System. An Agent will have the option to choose a RatePlug report when sending a prospective homebuyer property listing information. The reports with RatePlug will include real-time mortgage payments specific to that property including mortgage payment, real estate taxes, homeowners insurance, PMI and assessments. The Agent can choose the Lender(s) that will be included with their reports.
2) How does an Agent sign up?
An Agent should go to: www.rateplug.com/MARIS . There is an online sign-up form as well as an online demo of the system.
3) What is the cost to an Agent?
There are no additional costs for MARIS members to participate.
4) How does an Agent benefit from RatePlug?
RatePlug provides a valuable tool for your homebuyers and keeps them from searching competitors’ sites for payment information. Agents will experience a competitive advantage through longer customer sessions within listings provided.
5) How many LO’s can an Agent have displayed on property listings?
You can display up to 3 LO’s
6) Is there a cost to a Loan Officer to be part of the program?
Yes, the LO can either choose a $59 monthly package or an annual package of $435. Both packages require a one time $35 set up fee.
7) How do I pull the RatePlug report through my MLS?
The RatePlug report is named ‘Detail Display’ within the Matrix system and a small link will be made available within the other consumer reports (Varies by Market). By selecting the RatePlug report you will see the payment information at the bottom of the report.
8) What if the LO I refer does not enroll in the program?
We will notify you via email and ask for another LO that you work with. We will also make available, a list of all participating Loan Officers, so that an Agent could select from that list if they so desired.
9) Does RatePlug only display on my listings?
RatePlug will display on any listing that you choose the RatePlug report for regardless of whether or not you are the listing agent.
10) Why does RatePlug not display on my property listings on occasion?
Keeping mortgage rates up to date is crucial. If your LO does not update their rates within a 5 day period they will automatically be taken off of the display. Once they update rates they are automatically placed back on display.
11) Do I need to install any software to use this program?
No you do not. Simply enroll online and select the RatePlug report from your report menu when sending listing information to your customers.
12) What is the RatePlug Property Flyer Program?
RatePlug Property Flyer System is a program designed to display live lending information with property listing information for Agent open houses. The mortgage information on the flyers will include real-time mortgage payments specific to that property including mortgage payment, real estate taxes, homeowners insurance, PMI and assessments. The Agent can choose the Lender(s) that will be able to create the open house flyers.
13) Is the RatePlug Property Flyer System only available for my listings?
Yes, the Loan Officer has no search abilities within the database. They can only create flyers for properties you list within the MLS database.
